Film Review: The Devil Wears Prada

14 Oct

Plot: Small-town girl Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) gets a job working in New York City for Runway fashion magazine, where she has to cope with a high-powered, dictatorial editor, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Based ion the novel by Lauren Weisberger.

Superficial. Shallow. But wait, it has the great Meryl Streep! Streep as always, delivers another spot on performance as Runway fashion editor Miranada Priestly – allegedly based on Vogue editor Anna Wintour whom novelist Lauren Weisberger worked for previously as (you guessed it right) her assistant. This film will not change your life, but it was an enjoyable watch. More than anything else the film is more of style than substance.

Man I am so glad I have never been a slave to fashion – now I dont know if that’s really a good or a bad thing altogether. Hihihihi…
