Plot: In LA, while escaping from the police after an unsuccessful robbery, the small time thief Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jr.) is accidentally submitted to an audition for a role of detective in a movie, and invited to a party. He meets the homosexual private eye Gay Perry (Val Kilmer), who suggests him to participate of an investigation to develop his character. He also meets the gorgeous aspirant actress Harmony Faith Lane (Michelle Monaghan), and finds that she was a friend of his childhood for whom he had a crush. Harry and Perry get involved in an intricate murder case with many leads. With the support of Harmony, they find the sordid truth of the case.
I almost forgot how brilliant an actor Robert Downey Jr. is, and he was just fantastic in this film not to mention an equally good performance from Val Kilmer. Michelle Monaghan (also seen as Tom Cruise’s wife in M:i:III) showcased her talent even more so in this movie.

…and that’s what it’s all about. I love it when I manage to influence someone to go and see a film they wouldn’t have normally, I think I’ve managed that a few times now and it makes all the hassle, time and negativity worth it.

As for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang … its one of the only films I bought on day of release ‘last’ year. I think it warrants all the praise it gets & lots that it doesn’t .
Ram, I’ve always wanted to ask you for your recommended Bollywood flicks as I have not seen any just yet, give me at least 3 that I can start off with. As for Don, youre talking about the one released in 1978?

In all honesty its probably not as fab as I make out. lol
That said, the 1978 one is still a total classic that meets the taste of cool 70’s flicks.
& I do feel the 2006 version only gets full justice if you have seen the original. So I’d say see both. In order.
